Wifey and me opened a super duper saving account for ourselves.
We or to be exact, she realised that we needed a seperate account specifically for savings bcos we have this tendency to put the hand and take some money from our joint account. It is basically an endowment plan called save-as-you-protect by Aviva and DBS. Basically, i put in a sum of money and it will insure me for the next 15 years. At the end of the 15 years, i will get all my money back incl interest rates of 2.5 per annum. Sounds quite a good deal and if everything works accordingly to plan, we should be able to have at least $100k by the age of 45.
Now the problem is that we have another sum of money which we are planning to put in FD but to me, the interest rates SUCKS big-time.
Sigh.. No money also headache, now got money find place to save also give me headache.
Aiya, should have written this before the xmas post.
Benayoun scored the first. A magnificent volley after a brilliant cross by Kewell.
Second was an own goal by Distin after great work by Mascherano to intercept the pass then Kuyt to pass the ball to Torres who created hell lot of panic in the box.
Third was scored by Torres who controlled his shot perfectly to slide the ball into the bottom corner. I must say that i was most impressed by his control. I was also impressed by Mascherano’s pass to Babel which led the the panic in the box again.
Fourth was a volly by Torres on his left foot.
We are slowly getting into the 2nd-half-season-form that we have always seen from Rafa’s team. I hope that we can win all our matches during this xmas season and hope that the rest of the contenders start dropping some points.
Did something different from our usual clubbing / book-hotel-room-and-stay party. We did a house party at our “hotel” 
and i would say that it was a success..
We were still worried that the alchy gang ppl won’t be able to find food to bring but in the end, everyone put in their effort and brought their share of the food. In the end, our worries were unfounded bcos there was TOO MUCH FOOD.. hahahahahaha…
Not sure how Wifey did it but she organised the entire thing by herself with some help from Gail. She coordinated the food allocation, timetable, reminders for me to book tennis courts, sms-ing address to everyone and most importantly, she ENSURED that everyone brought food ! BWHAHAHAH.. She made it clear that no food = no entry.. kekekekeke
As usual, drinks aka alcohol was in free-flow mode the entire nite. We had beer, wine, Vodka(puke) and of course, Martell(puke puke puke). And we played drinking game till 4am ( i think) before we decided that it is time to call it a day.
All in all, it is a good “quiet” way to celebrate Xmas with friends and family without the squeezing and spending-loads-of-cash.
Another one next yr ?

All i can say is that Liverpool failed to take their chances and Man U took their one and only chance. It happens every goddamn year !!!!

Overdue post but it was a brilliant win by Liverpool. Torres scored a brilliant goal and if it was not in the middle of the night, i would have shouted louder. All i did was whisper a silent wow.
Totally overplayed, dominated and destroyed Marseille.
Blah… Stupid n/w is so slow and it takes forever for my files to be check into Sourcesafe. So i take this time to write this blog entry / rant about the stupidest decision made by taxi company.

Anyway, i had a discussion with Wifey in the car.. She was pointing out that even with the new price, ppl are still taking taxis. Then we talked about the new pricing structure and how taxi drivers’ destiny are not in their own hands.
My opinion is that the new price structure only solves the symptom and not the root cause of the problem. By increasing the CBD surcharge, the 35% watever-nonsense and peak hour starting from 5pm till 11:59pm, it is only creating another massive problem. Now you will have drivers trying to stay out or hiding away from the CBD till 5pm as there is no incentive for them to go in even earlier.
By giving them so many “incentives” to go in, it doesn’t solve the problem as he taxi drivers still wield the power NOT to go into CBD before 5pm.
But it comes back to the question, why should taxi drivers be given an incentive to go into the CBD to pick passengers up? It doesn’t make any sense at all.
I feel that the best solution will be the following:
- Scrap the surcharges
- Increase the flag-down rate to $3.50
- $0.20 per 385 metres of travel for the first 10 kilometres. This will go up to $0.20 per 330 metres for journeys beyond 10 kilometres.
- $0.20 for every 45 seconds of waiting time.
- Midnight surcharge to stay at 50 per cent of the metered fare
- Give all drivers who are unable to get a passenger within 15 minutes of entering the ERP zone an ERP rebate
This will create a better platform for both passengers and taxi drivers. In my opinion, $3.50 for a flag down is reasonable at the current oil & inflation rates. By taking away the surcharges and the rebate of the ERP charges, the taxi drivers won’t have any “incentive” to hide around and waiting for surcharges to kick in. They would have to go into CBD during peak hours as there would be a huge demand and that will solve our “disappearing” taxi problem.
Haiz. I already told myself not to be affected by the TNP’s stupid reports about LFC defeat to Reading.
But still, i am damn pissed with what i have read ! Liverpool going the route of Leeds !? And Liverpool losing to lowly team like Reading !? Give Man U the title !?
Sheesh.. Fucking bias shit from our tabloids. I really starting to think that they write this kind of crap on purpose to drive up my blood pressure and to get readership.
I wish that LFC will win the EPL title and we can shove their comments back into their freaking ugly face.. Totally hate that “experienced” coach, Peter wat-ever-his-ugly-name-is and his nonsensical comments. The worst part is his dress sense.. Purple suit with pink tie..

Enjoying my stay at my parents’ new place other than the stupid auto gate thingy. I haven’t gotten the holder for the auto gate thingy so i always must perform stunt to open the gate.
Nice quiet place with nice view.. Lots of amenities like swimming pool, tennis court, gym which i haven’t make used of any yet. Hahahah.
House is still in a small mess with the gals’ and contractors’ stuff which haven’t been cleared yet but other than that, it is pretty cool.
So far so good. Starting to get the hang of my job.
Just roll-out a new warehouse program for a new customer and everything went smoothly.
Learning a lot of new things which will put me in good stead for my future jobs.. Hahahah..
