Poor boy got sick on xmas eve so he couldn’t enjoy the celebrations.
It was tough for us as it was for him bcos we had to feed him medicine and every cough will jerk us out of bed.
We brought him to see PD at Tampines, GP at Thomson and then PD at Tampines on 24/12, 25/12 and 26/12 and the total cost was about $200. Oh well, as long as he gets better, the money doesn’t matter.
Still so cute !
Hopefully after this time, he will remain strong and don’t fall sick liao.

I totally enjoy fatherhood.
I have learnt a few things about Reyes
- He makes a LOT of noise while sleeping. He makes the “Urgh” followed by coo-ing followed by god-knows-what-else. At first, i was awaken by these sounds but now, i am totally immune to it. LOL
- He is docile in the morning, cranky at noon and sleepy at evening.
- His poop is very wet macham like curry sauce with too much water
- He loves shower time
- He enjoys tummy time on my tummy
- He bullies Wifey. He only gives her enough time to do ONE thing before he starts crying
- He can only fall asleep by lying on his side
- He enjoys ppl playing with his two chubby cheeks
- He has the most beautiful smile in the morning when Wifey plays with him
- He loves his chicken drumstick hands. LOL
Even though it is tiring but i think it is even more tiring for Wifey. She wakes up at the ungodly hours to feed, change him and soothe him while allowing me to sleep bcos i have to work. She also prepares dinner and at the same time, play and soothe Reyes to sleep in the afternoon. She is a SUPER woman.
I am not sure how she manages to survive but i secretly think that she enjoys the challenge. Maybe we have one more kid soon. LOL

That is practically the list that i have done with Reyes for the past month but of course, i had the help of the confinement lady.
She will be leaving tomorrow and i am sure with all my “practice”, i should be able to help out in the house to take care of our little prince

Wifey has been a good gal, sticking to MOST of her confinement routine.
And so far, Reyes has been a good kid. MOST of the time, he only crys when he is hungry. But sometimes, he goes into crying overdrive and i cannot figure out the reason. No matter how i carry him, it will not soothe him and he will cry even louder. Wifey says that i look uncomfortable and it makes him uncomfortable then he becomes unhappy. But once Wifey or CL carry him, he will fall back into sleep 
.. But nevermind, i keep trying till i get it right !
I resolve to be a hands-on daddy so that i can bond with Reyes and help Wifey out with taking care of him. I know that it is not easy to take care of a newborn and Wifey is already tired out from all the breast-feeding, pumping in the middle of the night so her boobs will not be engored. So i should put in my effort to relieve her burden too..
But so far, i have been enjoying my time with Wifey and Reyes. He has really been a bundle of joy. 
I just love taking pictures of him and i have taken a lot. Wifey says that i am a paparazzi. Hahahah..

- Woke up and took a shower to chiong finish my work.
- Feeling kan chiong the entire day.
- Cannot wait for the day to end
- Told Reyes before i left for work that he either come out naturally or the doc will force him out
6:30pm to 7:30pm (3/9/09)
- Went for dinner with Wifey at Whitesands
- Went to NTUC to buy pail, batteries, magazines, cup noodles
- Went home and brought up our emergency bags to repack
7:30pm to 11:00pm (3/9/09)
- Repack our emergency bag with PSP,
- Clean up the house
- Played FM and watched TV
- Took a shower
- Wifey gave the hamster 3 days worth of food
11:00pm (3/9/09) to 1:30am (4/9/09)
- Drove to Thomson Medical
- Registered and got our room
- Wifey got the pill thingy while i set up internet, changed into sleepwear
1:30am (4/9/09) to 7:30am (4/9/09)
- i SLLLLEEEEEEEPPPPP while Wifey was being “entertained” by the nurses
- Eat cup noodles for breakie
7:30am (4/9/09) to 2:00pm (4/9/09)
- Dr Sim came and see see look look and pop another pill into Wifey. 1cm dilation onli *rolleyes*
- Read newspaper, surf internet
- Log onto MSN so nobody will suspect that Wifey is being induced. Wifey pang tang that if ppl know, then labour will be long
- Bored
- Watch HBO
- Eat mooncake
- Tell Reyes to come out. If he doesn’t, he will pay from his school funds for the extra days in Thomson
- Bored
- Eat cup noodles for breakie
- Doc Sim came in, checked on Wifey and burst the waterbag
2:00pm (4/9/09) to 7:00pm (4/9/09)
- Wifey goes to observation ward and i was “chased” out. So i went up to get my PSP and played my game at the bench near the lift bcos the family waiting room was being used for classes. So pathetic
- My name was called and i went to observation ward to accompany Wifey.
- Played my game while Wifey was lying there
- Wifey started to feel more intense pain and then we took abt 30 mins to decide whether to take epidural
- Finally, we decided that Wifey should have epidural
- Went upstairs to relieve myself and took Wifey’s sandwiches(since she is not there to eat) and when i came back, Wifey was gone to the labour ward.
- Was “chased” out again so i went out to buy my dinner but in the end, i didn’t have appetite so i bought a puff thingy from Delifrance to eat
- Went to Labour Room 8 to accompany Wifey
- Saw Wifey hooked up to all the machines and epidural was been fed into her
- Continued to play my psp while Wifey lay on the bed
- Wifey still felt pain after a while so we called the nurse to turn up the dosage
- Wifey felt better so i went back to my game and we waited
- Many nurses came in and take a look and commented that Wifey should be giving birth by 10pm
- One of them hooked Wifey up to the urine bag thingy
7:00pm (4/9/09) to 8:00pm (4/9/09)
- Wifey was in extreme pain as the epidural didn’t take effect on the right side of her body. Her left side was totally numb
- Different nurses flipped and turned her to make her more comfortable
- Gave up playing my PSP and accompanied Wifey by talking to her and massaging her back and secretly watching tv. Hahahah
- Epidural ran out and we opted for a refill
- It didn’t help even though we turned Wifey to sleep on her right side. Her left leg was totally numb and the backpain got worse and worse. That made her super frustrated
9:00pm (4/9/09) to 9:56pm (4/9/09)
- Finally, the midwife told Wifey to get ready to push
- I was also instructed to help Wifey lift her head and pull back her legs
- So Wifey pushed and pushed and pushed till she was exhausted
- Finally, Dr Sim came and Wifey told her, “I SURRENDER !”
- Dr SIm told Wifey to try a few more times before the forcep is being used. She tried and tried but Reyes still didn’t want to come out fully.
- Dr Sim used the forcep while Wifey used all her strength to push him out
- And so, Reyes was born on 04/09/08, 2156 hrs
Monday was the final checkup before the real thing. Doc said that Reyes was doing fine and he is chubby. Hhahahaha.. Anyway, couldn’t really see much bcos he was covering his face with his hands..
I am very excited that our 9 months wait is finally coming to an end. We have prepared everything including shifting a very heavy baby cot to my Mom’s place.
So now, i can only hope and pray that Wifey’s delivery is painless and smooth and hopefully, it will be over in just a few hours.
Went to the gynae on Sat. Everything is normal and we managed to catch a glimpse of Reyes playing with his fingers. His hands was holding his legs again ! Guess he is turning out to be a true yoga master.
Reyes was growing normally and seems like he is ready to come out! Doc said that it should be within these 2 weeks as Wifey is having minor contractions and the aminotic fluid is just ok.
So with that fact in mind, Wifey and i rushed to complete most of the shopping, getting the cot from her sis and setting it up. We are 95% operational and hopefully, we didn’t miss out anything. Hahahah.
I am quite excited that Reyes will be coming out slightly earlier than expected bcos i cannot wait to see him
Went for checkup on Sat and no news is good news..
Reyes is still doing fine and growing well. He is already at the 2.5kg mark and seems that he will be about 3kg when he is out. Doc also said that he has a big tummy. Hahahhaa.. He has a beer belly like his dad liao.
Anyway, 4 more weeks and we haven’t even prepare his bed yet. Lots of things to do but we are dilly-dallying. Wifey and I are anxious but we dun have the discipline to start to prepare his arrival.
and we are like totally not prepared at all.
I was talking to Wifey a few days back and we were saying that we could be one of the most bo-chap first-time parents ever. Hahahaha. We didn’t buy much for Reyes nor prepare much for him also. I guess we decide that material things are not as important as the love that we are going to bestow on him.
So far, we have
- Cot – Reused from Wifey’s bro
- Milk Bottle – Free from Wifey’s bro
- Diapers – Came along with some TMC goody bag
- Baby clothes – Bought from Batam. LOL
- Toys – Reused from Wifey’s bro and sis
- Baby Carrying Thingy – Reused from Wifey’s bro
- Some funky floor thingy which is used for baby to play in
And i reckon the next things that we need to prepare are :
- Hospital bag
- Wash all the baby clothes and stuff
- Prepare the baby cot with toys
- Change my hp
- Charge the camera
What else !!! What else !!! Another 40+ more days… *anxious*
